The official start date of San Francisco Design Week (SFDW) isn't until June 21, but a special preview party will be hosted by Pac Heights furniture showroom Zinc Details this Thursday, June 13 from 6 to 8pm. The event will showcase the SF Local Design Market featuring local makers (from jewelry to home goods to clothing and accessories) and their wares— in addition to revealing a first glimpse into the designers' showcases.
This year's SFDW is in partnership with FormFactors SF, a non-profit that facilitates the collaboration between designers and design-oriented spaces to ultimately build the design presence in SF. Visit the FormFactors booth at the Zinc Details party to pick up a map and guide to SFDW with details on participating stores (such as Yield Design Co) and designers (e.g. Kaii Tu). And be sure to study up on the itinerary because SFDW is looking to be a packed week, crisscrossing town with installations, panel discussions, and parties.—Esther Hahn
