Newly launched tech start-up VivaDressUp has streamlined the charitable clothing drive into a seamless, online platform. Based in SF, the site allows organizations and individuals to raise funds for special causes by donating and selling dresses online. The startup acts as the middleman, holding and authenticating the dresses before packaging and shipping them to buyers. These "VivaDressDrives" bypass the costs and manpower involved in local fundraising events while also tapping a global market.
Katy Perry's Betsey Johnson dress
Celebrity donations are a big draw for this fashion-savvy platform. Later this fall, bid on dresses previously owned by the likes of Katy Perry, Kristen Bell, Colbie Caillat and other fashionable leading ladies. No word yet on when the celeb-studded sale will go live (although we do have confirmation that it will be this fall), so keep a close eye on the website for upcoming flash sales events. VivaDressUp hosts two sales per week and adds new stock added daily. Raising money for charity can now be a part of your weekly shopping routine.
