Levi's has a long history of supporting the LGBT community. As Out.com explains, Levi's was one of the first brands to support the battle against the AIDS crisis, the first company to offer benefits to same-sex couples, and the "only California business to file an amicus brief with the California Supreme Court to back same-sex marriage" when the Prop 8 battle started in 2007.
This year, Levi's continues that support with a special Pride Collection of t-shirts, tank tops, and hats, available in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, D.C., and (of course) San Francisco through June.
The company says, "Equality is not something we just wear; it's woven into the fabrics of our principles." And that principle-woven fabric is now available with whimsical rainbows and the Levi's logo.
This morning, we confirmed with both San Francisco Levi's stores —525 Castro Street and 815 Market Street— that the special collection is in stock and ready for Pride Week. T-shirts are $25, tank tops are $18, and hats are $18. A Market Street staffer tells us that sizing runs slim for both sets of t-shirts, and that the tank top, while labeled as men's, is easily unisex.
The San Francisco stores are also offering free Levi's rainbow patches with a purchase of $100 or more. Patches are currently available, but supplies are limited. If you need to replenish your Levi's stock, now's the time to do it.
