San Francisco companies like Dark Garden, ThirdLove, and Honey Cooler Handmade have seriously upped our city's undergarments game. Hand-made pieces. Perfect sizing. What's not to love?
If you can't get enough of the local lingerie scene, then it's time to add Naja to your must-watch list. This SoMA-based brand is combining gorgeous designs, luxury details (think memory-foam cups and whimsical print lining) and ethical practices to create pieces that look way more expensive than their less-than-$80 price point.
The designs speak for themselves, but the do-good aspect may need more explanation. Through Naja's Underwear for Hope program, the company trains single mothers to sew, and hires them to make the brand's lingerie wash bags. All of Naja's panties are made in a factory solely owned by women who employ single mothers/female heads-of-household. In other words, you can feel good knowing that your purchase is helping other women.
Naja is in the process of funding its latest collection through Kickstarter. Though the project is now fully-funded, you can still pre-order pieces through Kickstarter to save 10% on your purchase. Or, for more immediate gratification, shop the brand's current collections right now. Just don't be surprised if you're tempted to wear this underwear as outerwear.
