The Stanford Shopping Center is full of posh stores and posh people, so it seems reasonable that the grounds should be equally posh. Later this year, workers will start giving the retail destination the design and landscape makeover it deserves. The improvements will include expanded pedestrian areas and meeting spots, 20-30 new shops, 5 additional restaurants, and a "dramatic, contemporary architectural streetscape." The real showstopper, however, will be the open air fireplace near Louis Vuitton.
A rep for the shopping center tells us that construction is set to begin late summer/early fall of 2014, and should be finished sometime in 2016. So if you need us in two years, we'll be hanging out in the seating area by that LV fireplace.
