You expect showers at the city's traditional gyms— the Crunches and Fitness SFs, Equinoxes— but locker rooms at boutique studios are less predictable. To take some of the guess work out of your post-fitness routine, we've mapped boutique studios around the city that offer both hard-core workouts and a place where you can get ready for work (or brunch). They may not all offer a range of Kiehl's bath products like Equinox, but at least you can avoid walking home in sweat-drenched clothes. Know of a studio we should add to the map? Do your fellow readers a solid and hit us up at the tipline.
There's no way you won't sweat during House of Air's killer air conditioning classes. Luckily, both the men's and women's locker rooms have three showers each for your post-workout refresh.
Whether you're climbing or taking a yoga class, there's a locker room waiting for you at the end of your workout at Planet Granite. Each facility is equipped with lockers, a sauna, and showers. Towel service is complimentary.
While it lacks full lockers rooms, Sweat Republic has two bathrooms with showers. Both are next to the workout areas, so cut out your shower singing or risk serenading a class.
Instead of full locker rooms, the original San Francisco SoulCycle has two single-person shower rooms, two changing rooms, and two bathrooms. There's always a line, so try to be quick.
You won't confuse the shower situation at Polk Street Boxing with the locker room of your favorite spa, but the no-frills vibe is part of boxing, right? The important thing is that you can shower.
Unlike the Cow Hollow location, the FiDi Pilates ProWorks has a few showers. Get ready for work or brunch after your workout without trekking back home.
After class, shower in the Wheel House pristine locker rooms with Malin + Goetz products. If you really like the shampoo or conditioner, you can buy it at the studio.
So. Much. Space. The men's locker room has five showers and the women's locker room has eight. (8!!!) There's also plenty of vanity space and great lighting for post-workout hair and makeup.
Barry's has full men's and women's lockers rooms with showers, hairdryers, and Malin + Goetz products. It gets crowded in the mornings, so you might have to skip your post-class stretch if you have an early meeting.
Rogue & Saint has a shower. Singular. But if you're determined to avoid the trip back home to get ready for wherever you're going after class, it's a really new, clean shower.
After working up a sweat in Cardio Boxing, head to the often-empty locker rooms to clean up. Complimentary towel service is limited to Hit Fit members; drop in guests —we're looking at you Fitmob and ClassPass clients— can rent a towel for $2. Cash only.
The newer location of Pop Physique brings something that the Russian Hill location doesn't: Showers. So you can primp before you hit up the selfie saloon.
