Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In addition to providing an East Bay place to acquire Rag & Bone, Equipment, Rachel Comey and Suno, McMullen also offers up frequent opportunities to nosh and sip champagne. Needless to say we get over there whenever possible. Their next shindig is a trunk show with jewelry designer Kathy Kamei, where you can check out her new holiday collection. It's happening tomorrow, Wednesday December 19, 2pm to 7pm at the Piedmont location, 1235 Grand Avenue.

We love that Kamei donates 100% of profits from her elephant necklaces ($200) to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which helps protect and preserve endangered elephants and rhinos in Africa. We also love the rest of her jewelry for holiday gifting, including the "quadruple life necklace" ($326) pictured above and made of reversible interlocking silver and gold discs.
