Racked San Francisco Is Here!

New, 4 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Bay Area is home of some of the best shopping in the whole world, in some of the most charming neighborhoods in the universe. So we couldn't be more excited to announce that we're launching Racked SF in order to provide you, the San Francisco shopper, with non-stop coverage of everything amazing about retail in this city. If you're a sample sale hunter, a deal stalker, a collab fanatic, or if you just like to spy what the kids (of all ages) are wearing anywhere from Dolores Park to Fort Mason, we think you'll enjoy browsing through this site.

We hope so, anyway. And if you don't, we hope you'll let us know. Because really, Racked SF is nothing without you. Have you noticed a nifty-looking store open up in your hood? We'd love to hear about it. Did you see an unbelievable deal on Rachel Comey booties? Tell us where (after your pair has been secured, of course)! For these purposes, or to send love notes, we invite you to use our tipline: sf@racked.com.

Enough about you, let's talk about me. I'm a bona fide San Francisco shopping veteran. I've been spending money (earned by scribbling for various magazines and websites) in the boutiques, vintage shops and department stores of San Francisco for...well let's just say long enough. I've gotten some amazing deals (Catherine Malandrino at Cris on Polk for a song), and I've spent embarrassing amounts on things I just had to have (hello Margiela x H&M collab). I've been sharing my escapades on my blog, Stylenik, since 2010, and I'm a reformed science and technology reporter. My road to Racked has been long and circuitous, but hopefully it all makes me someone who will do justice to our fair city's vibrant world of fashion and retail.

In other exciting news, today's also the day Racked Philadelphia and Racked Boston join our sister sites Racked NY, Racked LA, Racked Chicago, and Racked National. And that's just the beginning for 2013. It's all happening in time to hunker down for a whirlwind shopping season. So stay tuned for the best bargains, the most covetable new merch, and, of course, the hottest parties happening during the holidays and beyond. We won't let you miss a thing.
