Browse the Closet of an East Bay Style Star

We've got some good news and some bad news. OK, the bad news first: longtime, awesome East Bay blogger, Rebecca Goldschmidt of Big Things is moving to Mexico! I mean, she's excited for a new adventure. But we're a little sad because we'll miss her. But we're happy for her, of course! So the good news, besides the fact that she's happy and we're happy for her, is that before the big move she's offloading a TON of the vintage finds she's collected over the past 10 years. And this woman's taste is off the charts. She has accumulated a huge personal collection of vintage clothing, jewelry, housewares, and other treasures living and traveling through Chicago, Portland, Europe, and Mexico. It's all happening at on Saturday, December 8 from 4 to 8pm at Mercy Vintage Now, 4188 Piedmont in Oakland. Between the Mercy Vintage wares and Rebecca's personal collection, we dare you not to walk out with an armful of finds.
UPDATE! We asked Rebecca to describe the items she was finding the hardest to part with:

It was so hard to get rid of stuff, I've been collecting for over 10 years so there was a LOT. I'd have to say the hardest were a 70s plaid blazer of my mom's that I wore a lot in high school; a 50s embroidered owl cardigan from an ex-boyfriend; & these green Marni jelly sandals that I love but just don't fit! But most of the really special pieces are going to friends or in storage. No collector can ever give it ALL away, even though it feels amazing to not be weighed down but so much stuff.
