Shreve's Holiday Windows Will Transport You To Mythical Lands

You know Shreve & Co., right? Its that super fancy jewelry store in Union Square with a sort of serious vibe. Like the people shopping in there might at any moment shell out $10k or more for a no-joke piece of jewelry. But Shreve shatters that formal image with their wonderfully whimsical holiday windows.

Every year for the past 17 years Jim Cardosa has created fantastical window displays incorporating Shreve's amazing jewelry. Starting in April, Cardosa meets with his team, Bruce Henderson, who illustrates the backdrops, and Kat Soto, who designs the costumes, to plan the windows. This year, Cardosa chose "Fabled Lands" as the theme, and came up with some outrageous characters to watch over each locale. He gave us a personal tour of his mythical lands, and we couldn't help being charmed by his mini-creatures. Their outfits are to-die, not to mention the jewelry.
