Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Aesop has brought its "exaggerated minimalist" interior design and it's high-end hair and skincare line to San Francisco's Fillmore Street. The Melbourne, Australia-based company opened the new storefront on December 20, and it's a stark respite from the rest of the streets hustle and flash. Aesop chose NADAAA to design its first shop on the West Coast, and the centerpiece is a wall of pine boxes housing the brand's plainly labeled bottles and tubes of potions.

The minimalism, however, ends with the design--the prices are rather decadent. Look for 2 oz. bottles of Sage & Zinc Facial Hydrating Cream with SPF15 for $65, 1.5 oz. of Moroccan Neroli Shaving Serum for $35, or 1.7 oz. of Marrakech Eau de Toilette for $75.00. In all fairness though, their product feel and smell divine! And that's worth a splurge now and then.
