Last night, the The Stop Jack Spade Coalition went before the Board of Appeals to request a rehearing of an earlier appeal that failed to disqualify Jack Spade's move into the Mission. The Valencia Corridor Merchant Association won the rehearing but are aware of the high standard that must be met in order to overturn the original ruling made by the Planning Department. The San Francisco Bay Guardian reports (although does not confirm) more optimistic news that Jack Spade may be withdrawing its application all together. Stay tuned as the "formula retail" drama continues to unfold. [Via Mission Local]
