The Podolls, an SF-based, handcrafted brand with an eye toward sustainable fashion, is opening its first brick-and-mortar on October 18. The 900-square-foot store will be located in downtown Burlingame, a short drive south of the city (traffic depending), and will carry its handcrafted eponymous line in addition to a few other local brands — like Marisa Haskell jewelry and Micaela Greg sweaters — that complement the store's focus on an eco-friendly lifestyle. The opening will also coincide with the launch of The Podolls' children's line, Podots, featuring playfully sophisticated clothing for kids ages 1-4 years.
The store's modern and sustainable design will add to the increasingly hip vibes in the suburban town, now home to an outpost of The Plant Organic Café and an incoming Delfina Pizzeria. The Podolls' space will also play host to the creative process with the back room serving as the brand's studio. So mark the calender for later this month when you can actually feel and try on this wonderfully loud (sustainably sourced) jumpsuit before taking the plunge.
