Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The Voss Foundation will host an "African Bazaar Pop-up Shop" tomorrow, Friday, October 18th, from 2:00 to 6:00pm at the corner of Union and Pierce Streets. The event will feature jewelry, accessories and home goods made in Sub-Saharan African, and 100% of proceeds go towards bringing clean water to people in that region. A $10 donation is appreciated, and all shoppers will get a Bonnie Young-designed tote plus a gift card for a Benefit Cosmetics brow arch. The weather is going to be amazing so we suggest you play hooky and stop by—but if you can't make it, they have some pretty sweet goods available online. [Racked Inbox]
