Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
No one has to tell you that SF-based Freda Salvador shoes are must-haves for anyone who values an uber-high-quality, chicer-than-chic shoe, because we've already told you numerous times (also they happen to be the winners of our Best New Store 2013 Racked Award). And we're back with more good news: on Friday we got a sneak peek at the brand's spring 2014 collection and the shoes just keep getting better. We were happy to see that the See model is back in some gorgeous metallic options; also back again is the ever-popular Dream bootie. Some new lovelies include the Wit (we're especially loving it in clay buffalo), Shine, a mule that couldn't be more stylish or easier to wear, and Draw, a play on the huarache that's the perfect way to wear booties in warm weather. Peruse the whole gallery for the full collection.
The designers behind Freda Salvador, Megan Papay and Cristina Palomo-Nelson, staged a "city takeover" on Friday when they launched the spring line. For a glimpse of what that looked like, check out the video on their home page and stay tuned for footage from launch day.
