Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Are you heading to the Dia de los Muertos parade in the Mission this weekend? We highly recommend it. The makeup and costumes are a sight to behold. And if you'd like to get the look of a somehow beautiful living dead person, we've found a tutorial that makes it seem not impossible to achieve an intricate and beautiful skull face.
San Francisco's Dia de los Muertos celebration is on Saturday, November 2 from 6 to 11pm. It travels between 26th & Harrison Streets to Garfield Park.
