Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
You may recall that earlier this year, F.S.C. Barber on Valencia Street became Fellow Barber, following a split between the company's founders. The men's custom suit (and more) shop next door, Freeman's Sporting Goods, also shut down as a result.
Now, Fellow Barber's owners have reopened the space at 696 Valencia at 18th and installed a "shop in shop" and they're calling it Footprint. It's a boutique for manly things including pocket knives by Santa Fe Stoneworks, dude slippers from Morihata, bikes from The Knife and Saw, and lots more home decor, leather goods, travel and outdoor gear, and grooming products. It's also the only place in San Francisco where you can now buy wares from Brooklyn-based Pilgrim Surf +Supply, including surf boards, wax and fins.
