Reclaimed furniture store Zonal in Hayes Valley is apparently no longer up for sale. Hayeswire interviewed owner Russel Pritchard, who talked about how his Saskatchewan upbringing influences his rustic aesthetic, but no mention of the business being on the market.
He also describes how dot-com boom number one led to six Zonal stores across the Bay Area, and the bust brought that number back down to three. Now his motto is: "One man, one store." It's worth a read for these tidbits plus his roundup of favorite Hayes Valley haunts.
