Pacifica, a sleepy beach town south of San Francisco, holds a little-known skincare secret called Karma Wellness Boutique, where customized facials and full-body waxing are the specialties on tap. I'm particular about my eyebrows. I'm plagued with an inherent fear of over-waxing since a misguided make up artist waxed off half my brows many years ago. Since the unsightly fiasco and after moving to SF, I fanatically researched eyebrow shaping salons. After months of sampling, none of the highly-regarded city salons passed muster. I found myself flying to LA just for my brows. Finally, I stumbled upon Karma, and the Big Bay Brow search came to a merciful end.
Karma is located on the northern end of Pacifica, with easy access off of Highway 1. The salon's small parking lot, in addition to plenty of free street parking are a welcome reprieve from SF's parking struggles. Although walk-ins are welcome, I've never scored an appointment without calling ahead at least a day or two in advance. Bottom line: co-owners Marcella Comstock and Karen Lange, book up fast (and for good reason).
Marcella keeps my brows clean but still voluptuously full, which makes my eyes appear larger. Brows are a total game changer. And a side benefit is that Marcella's skincare regimen delivers glowing results.
Get an appointment ahead of holiday parties for perfect brows and glowing skin, and Marcella or Karen will help you establish an at-home skincare routine using their Jan Marini products. And for first time customers, get 15% off your first treatment when mentioning this deal (while the offer lasts).
