Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Ma Maison, the beloved home accents store with a French flair, is closing shop on December 31. Isabelle Karatzas, who opened the store in 1997 with her husband John, told us that they are moving to upstate New York. There are no current plans to reopen the store back east, so everything must go. A private party on Monday will offer long-time customers first dibs at all stock at a 25% discount. (If you fit the description, be sure to call ahead to get on the guest list.) And starting on the 26th, look for a clearance sale (although Karatzas declined to give specific details) on the shop's kitchen ware, candles, linens, and more. We're sad to see this slice of France leave town. But the time is now to snag some of the shop's French-country charm for pretty much every room in your home.
