Union Square's new Drybar
Union Square's new Drybar

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Of course not. One never knows when one might have an urgent last minute need for The Mai Tai, The Cosmo, or The Cosmo Tai hairstyle. So we're pleased to share the news that today, the blowouts-only pioneer opens its second SF location in Union Square at 123 Kearny Street (the other is in Pacific Heights on Fillmore). The shop has 15 chairs on 2 floors. Union Square now officially has everything you need to get ready for your holiday parties: wardrobe (pick any of a million nearby boutiques and/or department stores), makeup (Sephora, Benefit), and perfectly coifed hair.
