Eel & Ermine, a design duo specializing in wedding, bridesmaid and cocktail dresses, is moving from the fanciness of Presidio Heights to the, well, the fanciness of the Mission.
The new location at 2069 Mission Street will be by appointment only, and they'll be installed there starting in April. In the meantime, the gals are offering big discounts until March 16 (that's this Saturday) at their current storefront, located at 514 Presidio Avenue. Plus on Friday and Saturday, they'll ply you with snacks while you shop.
It is perhaps a sign of the times—the Mission may still be slightly less fancy than the other side of town, especially Mission Street per se, which has retained a fair amount of grittiness, but the neighborhood certainly has no dearth of fine establishments for eating and shopping. The dressmakers should feel right at home.
