San Francisco designer Julie Chaiken launched her brand Chaiken & Capone in 1994, and fast became famous for creating the perfect pants. She renamed the company simply Chaiken in 2010 with a full ready-to-wear collection, and her creations have been a growing national sensation ever since. But she's never finished reinventing, and she's hired a new fashion director, Jeffrey Chow, who worked with Marc Jacobs at Perry Ellis, and has also done time at Tommy Hilfiger and Pucci.
Since mastering the perfect pants, Chaiken has moved on to the perfect piece to pair them with: the leather t-shirt. It retails for $428, and Chaiken and Racked have teamed up to give away one to a lucky reader! The material was everywhere on the runways for spring, and though it may seem counterintuitive as temps rise, this is the softest, most supple iteration you'll find. It also happens to feature teeny perforations, a welcome design element that doubles as ventilation. It comes in white or black, you pick!
How to win? It's super easy: "Like" Chaiken on Facebook, then "like" Racked SF on Facebook. That's it! Told you it was easy. In the meantime, check out your potential winnings below, as well as Chaiken's latest video, styled by Vanessa Traina (who also styled the lookbook) and shot by Paul Maffi. Chic, n'est-ce pas? We'll announce the winner on Monday, April 1 at noon Pacific time.
