Twenty years ago, Marc Jacobs won accolades from critics for his grunge collection for Perry Ellis, but it was deemed unsellable and he was fired. The line was never produced. For the Saint Laurent Fall 2013 Collection, Hedi Slimane sent similarly grungy models down the runway, and received exactly the opposite response.
