American private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. has purchased a majority stake in French sibling retail chains Maje, Sandro, and Claudie Pierlot in a deal worth $854.4 million. That means lots more U.S. storefronts for the modern-luxe French brands, and one of them will be in San Francisco.
WWD reports that a Sandro location is set to open on Fremont Fillmore Street sometime this year. Limited Sandro designs are now available at Bloomingdale's, but the Fremont Fillmore location will be California's first stand-alone boutique for the brand. Keep your fingers crossed that Maje will be next.
