Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The days are getting longer and the evenings a tad bit warmer, so where to you go to enjoy a few cold ones and eat that Texas style BBQ you're suddenly craving? The newly-crowned meat masters at the Mission's Hi-Lo BBQ, of course.
Eater SF quickly added the restaurant to its Heatmap shortly after it opened about two months ago. Scott Youkilis (also of Hog & Rocks and Maverick) and Chef Ryan Ostler (also of Broken Record), have made quite an impression serving up home style dishes like the pulled pork sandwich and St. Louis-cut spare ribs.
However, it's a meatless dish (gasp!) that inspires our outfit today: the mouthwatering fried Brussels sprouts, served with a pineapple chili glaze and shallot crisps. The side dish has already turned many heads, and so will you in our sprouts-inspired outfit.
