First Jill Milan Luxury Vegan Handbag Store to Pop Up in SF

Italian handbag label Jill Milan is setting up shop at the Westfield San Francisco Centre on Market Street from Friday, May 24, through June 20 to showcase her 2013 summer collection of vegan, luxury bags, and to preview fall/winter. The bags may be completely free of leather and other animal-based materials, but the Italian craftsmanship is old-fashioned: the faux-leather is sewn by hand and the metalwork is also done by hand. The interior of the store will be a collaboration with Los Altos-based Amy Fischer, founder of Spectrum Interior Design.

Jill Milan is a favorite of the Hollywood set, seen on the arms of Academy Award-winning ladies Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence. But the brand decided to open its first pop-up store in SF, rather than LA, to connect with its clients in the Bay. And with names like the "450 Sutter Clutch" and the "Pacific Heights Clutch," the handbags are already well on their way to capturing hearts in San Francisco.
