Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Today marks the beginning of SFMade Week, the third annual showcase of San Francisco brands that make their products locally. From handbags to beer brewing to wood crafting, you can check out the production processes that occur within the city's 46.72 square miles at events, parties and workshops throughout the city this week.
Inspired and interested in making a product in SF? Attend the "Making It in SF" seminar on Tuesday, May 7 at 6pm at Techshop. And don't miss the celebration Wednesday night, hosted at the new Heath Ceramics Factory, where twelve SFMade companies will operate interactive maker stations for some hands-on experience. Buy your tickets in advance ($45) and save a few bucks at the door ($55). Check out the full SFMade Week 2013 schedule for all the fun events in store.
