If you can't find it, make it yourself—that's what the Faherty brothers are doing. They're making board shorts and swimsuits from recycled materials in the cuts and fits they struggled to find in stores. Faherty Brand is an ecommerce shop based in NYC (with plans for a brick and mortar store next year plus a full clothing line), but the guys are in San Francisco today (Friday, July 28) finishing the last leg of a 32-day, grassroots, retail truck tour.
Find the "mobile beach house" at Establish at 3811 Noriega Street. Doors open at noon with beers and a BBQ followed by a bonfire at Ocean Beach at sunset—all the beachside fun that continually inspires the brand's designs. The appropriately-named All Day Shorts would be perfect for this all-day event. And for the ladies, this Convertible Bra Top with its darling ruching and criss-cross straps works for hanging on the beach but also has enough functionality for hitting the waves. So head over to Outer Sunset (fog or no fog) and get suited up for a never-ending (we wish) summer.—Esther Hahn
