SoulCycle—the full-body indoor cycling studio chain favored by dreamboats like Jake Gyllenhaal and Bradley Cooper—is finally riding into town. The Equinox-backed fitness venture will open its doors at 1601 Larkspur Landing Circle in Marin on Saturday, June 8, and is now accepting reservations for June 8, 9, and 10. Considering how popular this sweaty-dance-club/fitness-cult combo is in New York and LA, we're pretty sure those classes will fill quickly.
The brand new studio boasts 54 bikes, full-service locker rooms, showers, a listening bar and a Soul Boutique where you'll find Soul-branded spandex in a rainbow of colors. The Marin location even offers 3 hours of free parking at the Marin Country Mart.
Classes are only $30—a relative steal compared to the $34 to $40 classes at other locations, and there's a $20 first-time rider rate. (Heads up: you have to call the studio at (415) 285-7685 to receive the discount.)
If you're new to SoulCycle, the reservation process is similar to the Mind Body system that many Bay Area gyms use. Before you book your bike, you create a user profile and purchase a Soul Series. (That's SoulCycle lingo for a package of one to 50 classes.) Once you add a series, you select a specific bike at a specific class time.
This could be the hottest fitness craze to sweep Northern California since CrossFit, so stretch, hydrate, and get ready to feel the burn. Reservations went live at 12pm today and you better hurry if you want a spot in a class this weekend.—Robyn Hagan Cain
