Men's clothing and accessories shop Freeman's Sporting Club at Valencia and 18th Street is closing its doors soon, possibly today (the website is still up and running). All employees have been laid off. It looks as if a split between the owners of Freeman's and the F.S.C. Barber Shop next door is to blame for the shuttering—a similar shake up of the pair's businesses in New York went down last week.

Sam Buffa and longtime partner Taavo Somer originally went into business together in New York running F.S.C. Barber together, while Somer ran a restaurant called Freeman's separately. Somer is keeping an NYC haircutting location next door to the former F.S.C. Barber location at 10 Rivington and calling it, simply, Barbershop, while Buffa is recreating F.S.C. in a new location in Lower East Side SOHO called "Fellow Barber," which opened last week.

Stay tuned for what's in store for the San Francisco shops, we'll keep you posted!
