The t-shirt mavens behind Pickwick and Weller have joined other previously online-only companies, including Bonobos, Betabrand and Indochino, with a brick and mortar try-on shop in San Francisco. Industry insiders celebrated the grand opening on Wednesday night at the new Union Square boutique at 300 Brannan Street, Suite 303, at 2nd.
The "Tee Shop" was initially part of the Pickwick and Weller corporate offices—a small space where customers could touch and feel the whispery-soft tees, then place orders. But due to popular demand, they've made it a stand-alone shop. Like Bonobos and the Indochino pop-up, you don't take anything home from this shop—you order it there, then receive your haul in the mail. The good news is: no bags to lug around, and all new customers get 20% off their first order. The bad news: you have to wait a day or two. Look for shirts with every variation of neckline possible, and in fabrics including cotton, cashmere, modal, linen and silk.
