Valleywag reported earlier this morning that People magazine made an embarrassing mistake: the celeb pub ran a story about Sergey Brin dating a young Asian woman named Amanda Goldberg, the marketing manager of Google Glass. But the photo they ran in the September 16 issue of the print magazine was of Belgian-based pop singer Telihana, whose real name is Nathalie De Clercq. This blog post says Nathalie has been getting all sorts of inquiries from friends asking if she's dating a billionaire.
While that may have been a great move for her fledgling career as a pop singer, People got the wrong gal. Actually the mistaken might boost her career after all, as she notes on her Google+ page:
And some more photos... Thanks for pointing them out everyone! Yay finally my photo is in the world wide news! :P
The mistake is pretty incredible considering the dozens of outlets that have already published the story with accurate photos, and also considering there are multiple, publicly-accessible photos of Amanda Rosenberg on her Google+ page. Hm, and everyone accuses online outlets of lax fact checking.
