Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Lux SF nail salon is now open in Hayes Valley, and it's menu refreshingly caters to the woman (or man, of course) on the go who is not into toxins. We're loving the option of an express mani for $15 or a "lacquer and leave" for $10. Of course you can always get a super luxe treatment if you have the time and want to indulge. You can even go for a custom mani or pedi, and get your "special needs" addressed by a nail technician.
Lux has its own collection of long-wearing polish featuring 90 colors, with new colors every three to four months. It's 100% cruelty free and vegan, and contains zero nasty toxic chemicals. It's also the only salon in SF that carries Bliss products—other brands you'll find include Deborah Lippmann, RGB, StrangeBeautiful and USLU Airlines.
There's something for everyone, check out the full menu of services and pricing.
