Good Vibrations, the "sex-positive" sex toy mini retail chain based out of San Francisco, is opening its seventh store on University Avenue in Palo Alto in early October. The company has been in business since 1977, and has stores in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland and Massachusetts. This is its first foray into Silicon Valley. Executive vice president Jackie Strano said in a press release that many of Good Vibes' customers have hailed from the South Bay, so it's about time they had their own outpost.
Says Strano:
We are proud to expand the brand into the headquarters of high tech and innovation where companies like Tesla, Facebook, and Apple hang their hat. It's an exciting time for the company and we have worked very hard to continue to grow and stay relevant in changing and turbulent times.
Good Vibrations also has a "staff sexologist," Carol Queen, who also serves as chief cultural officer. She says in the press release that the company is excited to be among Stanford's academic and medical community and to promote sexual health.
Stay tuned for details on a grand-opening party, we'll keep you posted!
