BAY AREA—Summer may be ending in the rest of the U.S., but it's just arrived in San Francisco. Here are 17 new patios that have opened in the last year, for your outdoor dining and drinking needs.
BAY AREA—And since it's September, we've also updated the Eater Heatmap with lots of new places to check out.
NOPA/WESTERN ADDITION—One of those places: La Urbana, the fancy new Mexican restaurant and mezcal bar that opened on Divis this week. We've got photos and menus.
FINANCIAL DISTRICT—Michael Mina and Ken Tominaga (Hana Japanese Restaurant) announced a big new restaurant project: Pabu and Ramen Market, an upscale izakaya and accompanying ramen shop taking the huge space at 101 California.
OAKLAND—We sat down with Kyle Itani and Jenny Schwarz of Hopscotch to talk about their first year in business, beef tongue burgers, and a review that made them cry (out of happiness).
INNER RICHMOND—No lines were seen at megapopular Burma Superstar early this week, as it was forced to close temporarily after being identified as the source of an E. coli outbreak that sickened as many as 14 people.
THE MISSION—ABV, a new cocktail bar from the bar heavyweights who helped put Beretta, Dalva, and Bourbon & Branch on the map, is taking the Tokyo Go Go space at 16th and Guerrero.
RUSSIAN HILL—The Pasha/Cossu space, long unoccupied on Broadway, has a taker: Taps, an upscale beer bar, hopes to open there next month.
