As much as they might deny it, technology execs might actually care about their appearance. Case in point: Brandee Barker seems to be making quite a nice living as an image consultant in Silicon Valley, working for the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg, the New York Times reports. She "looks every part a woman in the business of making other people look good—in this city not known for its fashion prowess, she wears Chloé boots and carries a Céline handbag..."
The former head of PR at Facebook recounts buying Zuckerberg an off-the-rack black suit at Stanford Mall's Nordstrom for him to wear at the World Economic Forum. Barker is fairly certain he didn't wear it, but doesn't mind because, she says, what's most important is that her clients are comfortable. So is Barker actually bringing style to the Valley? Maybe. After all, Zuckerberg was looking quite formal (in a tux, no less) at last month's science awards ceremony.
