Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
UNION SQUARE—Artist Justin Kerr, founder of Black Sheep Postal Service, is hosting a hands-on screen-printing workshop tonight at the Art.com pop up from 7-9pm. The store, located at 117 Post Street, is only here for another week and a half and officially closes on the 27th. So kill two birds with one stone by stopping in for the workshop and taking advantage of the current liquidation sale that's happening now (buy 2 or more items and receive 40% off or 1 item at a 25% discount). The event is open to the public and to all ages. RSVP to aberry@art.com. [Racked Inbox]
PIEDMONT—Visit the carefully curated boutique McMullen at 1235 Grand Avenue this Thursday through Saturday, January 16-18, from 11am-6pm, to view an exclusive trunk show from Frank & Eileen. The collection of casually chic shirting will pair perfectly with the store's newly arrived selection of Mother denim. [Racked Inbox]
SOMA—Tomorrow is the first "Third Thursdays" of the new year at the San Francisco Design Center at 101 Henry Adams Street. Drop into Showplace #301 from 6-8pm for an open house with the American Society of Interior Designers. Enjoy some free wine and nibbles while engaging in conversation (or asking those burning design questions) with members on the Board. [Racked Inbox]
