We've bid adieu to 2013 and we've newly rung in 2014. It's that time of year for reflection and hope for the future, so, like last year, we asked local fashion gurus—stylists, PR mavens, bloggers—to weigh in on what they loved in 2013, and what they're looking forward to for the coming year. We've covered favorite stores to shop in 2013, and best retail newcomers, the best shopping neighborhood of the year, and best purchases for 2013. In our final query, our gurus answer: "What statement piece do you hope to acquire in 2014?"
Heidi Ware, fashion director at eBay: "In 2014 I want to buy a proper coat and a new handbag (maybe Il Bisonte)."
Lauren Podoll, co-founder of The Podolls: "Perhaps a watch. Haven't worn one in years but feeling ready if the perfect one comes along."
Alexandra Bigley of SF Shop Girl: "A Jennifer Fisher cuff and Miu Miu platforms"
Erin Hiemstra of Apartment 34: "I've been coveting Kenzo—I think it's time to make one of their fabulous prints mine!"
Tammy Eckenswiller, stylist: "A bustier to layer over a sweatshirt and red sculpted Fendi heels."
Natalie Goel of Like Fresh Laundry: "Cropped sweater and a high-waisted skirt... quick, before the trend dies"
