FIDI— The Breast Cancer Emergency Fund (BCEF) is bringing This Old Bag: The Power of the Purse to the Bentley Reserve (301 Battery Street) on Friday, October 17th from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The night will begin with a cocktail party and silent auction, where guests can bid on an array of bags, followed by a live auction pairing gorgeous designs with exclusive experiences and travel packages. HAIGHT— Web publisher Shebooks has taken its online format offline with a special print issue of its stories for women, by women. Check out author readings from the compilation, Whatever Doesn't Kill You, on Tuesday, October 14th at Booksmith (1644 Haight Street). The litquake begins at 7:30pm.
