November is a big month for Rebecca Minkoff. The company is opening its very first SF location on Fillmore, in addition to another in NYC, and both stores feature oversize touchscreens that complement the brand's new app (which released today). The WSJ reports that the screens will help customers "browse merchandise or request items in specific sizes" while also providing data to the brand about customer behavior and popular styles.
The technology seems similar to the digital storefront that Rebecca Minkoff hosted at the Westfield mall last December and will serve some of the same needs as the tech-savvy dressing rooms at the new Bloomie's at Stanford mall. Regardless, the eBay-powered tech screens will help streamline the shopping experience at the new Fillmore boutique. The shop is scheduled to open next week. Let the countdown begin!
