The idea for the newly launched Les Méchantes began at last year's Paris Fashion Week. Three ladies from SF—Delores Arabian, Ashley Arabian, and Kathleen Ensign—traveled to the City of Lights to see the shows, but one late night, in their hotel room, they ordered a final bottle of wine to fuel a discussion around a dream of starting their own brand. The night manager, who made the delivery, ended up staying to talk fashion for a few hours before he finally exclaimed, "You ladies are les méchantes, naughty girls!" And so the vision turned into a plan, complete with a name.
So what exactly is Les Méchantes? It's an online store, based out of the Marina, that produces an in-house clothing collection (made right here in the Dogpatch) and offers a curated selection from either local or ethical brands. There's jewelry from Marina-based Kamryn Dame, Capital Eyewear that's handmade in SoMa, Paco Collars from Berkeley, and so much more. Think of it as a love note to SF and what's happening here in fashion and textiles. It's also a highly personal shopping experience that will fill your closet and home with the very best products that are out there.
