Union Square Hours Are Kinda Sporadic This Week

Anyone born after 1980 knows the term "sporadic" thanks to Cher's self-improvement kick in the movie Clueless, but the word aptly describes this week's business hours in Union Square. With holiday shopping underway, the major department stores are starting to open their doors earlier and keep selling later. It can get confusing, so we're going to give you a weekly update on operating hours throughout the season. First up: The most nerve-wracking day on the retail calendar: Black Friday. Everyone's opening early for the busiest shopping day of the year, but one store on the Square is getting the super sales day party started on Thanksgiving.

Here are the department store hours in alphabetical order.

Barneys New York
Barneys will be open from 10 am to 7 pm Monday through Wednesday, and closed on Thursday. Friday, Barney's reopens at 9 am and remains open until 9 pm. On Saturday, the store is open from 10 am to 8 pm. Sunday hours are 11 am to 8 pm.

Bloomingdales
Bloomie's is open from 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Wednesday, before closing for Thanksgiving. On Black Friday, the store will open at 7 am and close at 10 pm. The frenzy will continue through the weekend on Saturday (10 am to 10 pm) and Sunday (11 am to 8 pm).

Macys
Macy's is giving shoppers ample opportunity to experience the magic. The store will be open from 10 am to 9 pm this Monday and Wednesday, and 9 am to 9 pm on Tuesday. The store reopens at 6 pm on Thanksgiving Thursday, and remains open until 10 pm on Friday. On Saturday, store hours run from 7 am to 10 pm, and on Sunday, they will be open from 10 am to 8 pm.

Neiman Marcus
One of the luxury anchors of the downtown shopping scene, Neiman's will be open from 10 am to 7 pm Monday and Tuesday, and from 10 am to 5 pm on Wednesday. The store will be closed on Thanksgiving, but it will reopen from 8 am to 8 pm on Black Friday. The fun continues through the weekend, with the store open from 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday.

Nordstrom
Nordstrom is keeping the same hours as the smaller stores in Westfield Centre. Monday through Wednesday, it will be open from 10 am to 8:30 pm. It's closed on Thursday, and Black Friday are 7 am to 10 pm. On Saturday, the store is open from 10 to 10. On Sunday, it's from 10 am to 8 pm.

Saks Fifth Avenue
Like Neiman's and Barney's, Saks isn't going crazy with extra hours for the season. Both the main store and the Saks Mens Store will be open from 10 am to 7 pm Monday through Wednesday. The store is closed on Thursday. On Friday, Saks will open from 8 am to 5 pm. Saturday, hours are 10 am to 8 pm, and Sunday the store will be open from 12 pm to 7 pm.
