Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We watched jealously from afar as our sister site Racked LA reported on LA's giant, 30,080-square-foot Orchard Supply Hardware that opened around this time last year. But we won't have to feel left out anymore because the DIY lover's dream store is opening right here in SF. That's right, Orchard Supply is moving into the former Petco building on Taylor Street, adjacent to Cost Plus World Market.

The home improvement store (with a killer plant selection) will have both floors at its new address, in addition to the third floor of the Cost Plus building. (The two buildings will be connected via sky bridge.) Before you get excited about this shopping option for the upcoming holidays, this location won't open until June. You have seven months to build that Pinterest board of projects to tackle come summer 2015. Or, if you're really ready to jump the (glue) gun, visit the locations in Berkeley or South San Francisco to get started.
