Some crowdfunding projects struggle to gain traction. Others easily exceed their stretch goals. Linjer falls in the latter category. The San Francisco-based luxury leather goods company set out to raise $50,000 to make a line of high-end briefcases, satchels, and messenger bags. With two days to go, the company has raised almost twice that amount, unlocking both of its Indiegogo stretch goals.
Linjer —that's Norwegian for "lines"— promises to make luxury leather goods more accessible through a direct selling model. Roman and Jenn, the pair behind the line, grew frustrated with choosing between low-quality bags at the $250 price-point and high-quality, logo-emblazoned bags well over $1,000. They claim that their bags, which will sell for about $450 are comparable to styles that retail for $1200 to $2600.
The company is offering bags at a discount right now to their Indiegogo supporters. While Linjer doesn't need more money to put the line into production, this is your chance to snag a bag on the cheap. Want to pay $379 for this satchel instead of $449? Then you need to order yours before 11:50pm PST on Wednesday, November 5th.
