Inside Both SF Locations for Alexander Wang X H&M

Happy Wang Day, everyone! The highly-anticipated Alexander Wang X H&M collab launched this morning at two locations in Union Square, and I hit up both stores to see what was available. (Spoiler: Both stores sold out of the Wang boxing gloves.) At the Powell Street location, I arrived at 7:30 am and waited in line for two hours to get in the store. (That's not so bad. Some people waited all night.) At Westfield Centre, I breezed through the door at 10:15 with only a three minute wait. If you're not already in a line, here's what you need to know about what's waiting on the inside.

The Powell Street location has WAY more stock, and staffers tells us that they will be replenishing throughout the day. The blue and black body con dress wasn't available in tiny sizes, (0-4), but I found number of 8s, 10s, and 12s. The white sheer panel sweater seemed to be completely sold out, but there were about 15 sweaters left in black. The shoppers who queued up overnight wiped out the Wang cropped sweatshirts and boxing gloves, but the more expensive items —leather pants, booties, and jackets— were still available. Women's sizes are mostly medium and men's sizes are mostly large. If you enter the store on a wristband, you'll only have 15 minutes to shop, so make your decisions quickly.

After surviving the Powell Street line, I ran to Westfield Centre for a bathroom break and to check the H&M line at the mall. As mentioned earlier, that line is non-existent, but the stock in the store is also pretty sad. As of 10:20, they had the leather puffer jacket and a few pairs of leather pants. Beyond that, it's mainly tank tops. No dresses or sports bras. Staffers tell us that everything they have is out, so I suspect that they will completely sell out before the end of the day.

There's a seven-day return for refund policy on this collection, and very few people are trying on the collection in the stores. If you can't get what you want, check back at the stores in a week. You might luck out and find your dream piece as a return. Just don't hold out hope for the accessories, which are final sale. And if you hit the motherload today, share your haul with us on Instagram (@RackedSF) with tag #ShowUsYourWang.
