Remember how it was nearly impossible to find rain boots in local stores earlier this month during the big storm? Thanks to consecutive dry years, many stores stopped stocking the weatherproof shoes to avoid suffering losses. So it hardly comes as a surprise that SF Googlers searched more often for this particular item during this year's holidays than in years past.
The NY Times compiled a report detailing Google's top-trending, gift-related searched for 24 cities. In San Francisco, the Powermat wireless charger and Pebble smartwatch round out the top three. Both gadgets seem fitting for this tech-laden landscape. In contrast, LA's top three consists of jogger pants, Michael Kors, and the Mansur Gavriel bag. To check out what items top the list of other major American cities, see the full list here.
