A few months ago, Marie McCarthy and Alexei Angiledes, the couple behind SF's favorite tiny jewelry store Fiat Lux, asked five of their favorite indie designers to create a black diamond ring worth $3,000. Daisy San Luis, Digby & Iona, Elizabeth Street, Mother of Gideon, Nick Potash and the Fiat Lux themselves each created one of the rings you see above.

Then they asked their customers and friends to vote for the ring they liked best. Each vote came with one raffle ticket to win the the ring (as in take it home) that wins the most votes. And now begins a drumroll that will last until Friday, February 21, when Marie and Alexei announce which ring was the favorite, and who wins it.

Voting is over, but you can be there to celebrate with the lucky winner and hobnob with the designers at a trunk show and winner's ball this Friday. Marie and Alexei are flying the out-of-town designers to San Francisco for the event, where the winner will be announced and the designers will show new work. It's happening at The Office, 194 Church Street at Market from 7pm until late. If you've ever been to a Fiat Lux event, you know all the cool kids will be there!
