It's been 30 years since her last trip to our city, Angela Missoni tells the New York Times, but she's returning very soon. The Milan-based creative director behind the family's eponymous luxury brand will be awarded—alongside her daughter Margherita, a brand ambassador—with an honorary doctorate of humane letters by the Academy of Art University's School of Fashion. The two will join an illustrious list of designers that includes Angela's parents Rosita and Ottavio Missoni (the founders of the label) who received the same distinction in 1999. Ottavio passed last year, but Rosita will join her daughter and granddaughter to attend the graduation ceremony that will take place May 20-21 May 8 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
