Every Monday is Cyber Monday! Welcome to Racked SF's weekly series that highlights the fashion and retail apps emerging from the Bay Area.

From the founders of Combat Gent comes a new app, Haberdash, that brings expert tailoring directly to your door. The idea for the service began after Combat Gent's clients continually requested the brand's suggestions for trusted tailors in the area. Combat Gent's co-founder and CEO Vishaal Melwani (a third generation tailor himself) tells us, "The app is similar to Uber in that you can schedule the tailoring in advance, with complete price transparency, and allows for seamless payment." And best of all, the tailor comes to you (Hello, workday multi-tasking!).
The price list for the services are still in development, but Melwani promises that they will be ultra-competitive with the existing market (regardless of the fact that tailors will do the travel work). For Combat Gent clothing, the tailoring services will be provided gratis. But the first question that pops to mind is whether the tailors are amenable to the added heavy lifting? Yes, according to Melwani. "For the mom-and-pop tailor shops, the artisans, they may be experts at their craft but they need a little help with the marketing," he explains. "So by joining Haberdash's database of tailors, they're guaranteed business [from an appealing set of clientele that otherwise may not have walked through their doors]."
At the moment, Haberdash is looking for beta testers at both ends of the spectrum. The current database includes 28 vetted tailors, and Melwani hopes to add 60 more ahead of the beta testing launch at the end of the month. And SF-area beta testers for the app's services are also encouraged to sign up to fine tune the app ahead of the full launch in June. To submit your info to be considered, fill out the form here (with a separate options for tailors and customers). Then look forward to the day when you never again have to leave work to get your suit to fit like James Bond's. (And don't fret, NYC, DC and LA, you're next.)
